Bissell Steam Mop Bare Floor Steam Cleaner - the most environmentally safe and thorough way to clean your bare floors
The Bissell steam mop for bare floors is ready to blast away grime in just 30 seconds and gets the job done without the use of chemicals or detergents. Powered by a tank of tap water, the environmentally friendly mop shoots steam out of its 10-1/2-inch floor nozzle when you pull the handle trigger. The machine-washable terry-cloth mop pad wipes up the results. Slim and lightweight, the mop features an easily maneuvered swivel head with a conveniently shallow profile for under cabinets and shelves. It is safe for use on marble, ceramic, stone, vinyl, laminate, linoleum, and sealed hardwoods—all of which should dry after cleaning in a matter of seconds. An externally mounted filter features color-changing beads to indicate when it needs replacing. The machine can be used with distilled water to prolong the filter’s life. The mop runs approximately 15 minutes on one tank, and speedy set-up and heating time means you can be cleaning again within a few minutes. Nice details include a comfortable handle, a ready indicator light, an extra mop cover, a built-in carrying handle, a wall-mount storage bracket, and quick-release cord hooks. Bissell also includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Diane LongThis is a great steam mop. I had a Shark (which broke after 8 mos.). It left streaks on the floor and did not clean well. The Bissell mop does a great job! It used more steam than the Shark therefore no streaks!

I purchased the steam mop because my home is mostly tile floors. I used it about four times and it worked OK at getting the surface dirt off. I was a little frustrated at how much water leaked and the pads got soaked too quickly. I experimented with using as little steam as possible, but then it wouldn't get the dirt up. The pads aren't very durable either. My tile is not slick, but it's not rough stone either and the pads had holes worn into them after the first use. I had to pull out my hoover floormate to really get the grout clean, but I figured it would be OK for in between cleaning. The fifth time I went to use it I turned it on and all of a sudden the little filter beads were all over the floor. A defective seal? I've never used chemicals in it (that would defeat the purpose wouldn't it?) and it was never dropped or handled roughly. It made a horrible mess and I'm still finding those little beads underfoot. All in all it was much more trouble than it's worth. What a disappointment!

Brewdog760This is a great product that works as advertised. My wife and I bought this about 4-5 years ago and is has worked very well getting our laminite wood floors clean. We have two large dogs and two kids so our weekly or twice weekly routine is to use the bare floor attachment on the cannister vacuum to pick p all dog hair and larger particles. We then heat up the Bissell with distilled water and put the mop-head on. It usually only take a couple of minutes to be ready to go.
Pros:
- Heats up quickly
- Really does steam the floors clean
- No residue
- Very little excess water on the floor and when there is, it can be taken up quickly
- Stores well in the broom closet
Cons
- Ours broke down after only 3 years. We liked it so much and there is nothing else like it so we will buy another one
- Cannot take up everything. Sometimes you still need to get down there a scrub a stubborn spot

M. WestI no longer dread mopping the floors as I used to do with the water bucket and mop. The steam mop is a must for tile floors, and I have a lots of tile. Saves a lot of time and effort, with no messy cleanup. Just toss the cover in the laundry. I got 2 additional microfiber covers, which helps a lot. This is a wonderful product. Throw out those old scrub mops, people!!
